Job Title: Inpatient Social Worker Profession: Social Work Specialty: - Duration: Contract ending 01/03/2026 for Holiday coverage Shift: Rotating Schedule Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: 2-3 years social work experience, previous travel experience, previous recent inpatient behavioral health experience License: Current Licensed Master Social Work Certifications: - Must-Have: - Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work - Experience working with multidisciplinary teams - Ability to perform intake assessments - Experience leading groups - Experience charting in EMR/EMH system Description: The Social Worker collaborates with the psychiatrist and interdisciplinary team in developing and managing treatment plans. They serve as a liaison in relation to patient care and needs, facilitating access to clinical treatment for individuals. The role includes providing social services to both adult and child/adolescent patients. Services encompass bio-psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, individual and family education, and group therapy. Social Workers provide individual, conjoint, group, and family psychotherapy, in addition to crisis intervention services, as needed. They ensure that the quality of care is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. Social Workers also participate in designated committees and may serve as field instructors for social work, as qualified. The work involves managing a caseload of approximately 4-8 patients depending on current census. Candidates must have weekend availability, as weekend staffing is a primary gap that needs to be filled. Strong clinical knowledge and analytical abilities are essential for formulating effective social work care plans. The ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel is critically important. Experience with discharge planning and familiarity with charting in electronic systems is preferred.
