Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Physical Therapist Specialty: - Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM; one weekend Saturday-Sunday per month as scheduled. Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: - Minimum of two years current experience required in specialty. - Must have at least one year of pediatric physical therapy experience if working in pediatric settings. License: - Must have a valid PT License. Certifications: - BLS certification completed through an accredited organization. Must-Have: - Inpatient and outpatient experience. - Team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment. - At least one 13-week previous travel assignment. Description: Evaluate patients regarding the application of various therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders. Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy, including the interpretation of data. Basic computer skills are required. Must have a basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting. Evaluate and treat patients using a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan of patients served. Oversee and ensure a comprehensive rehabilitation program that meets the physical, psychosocial, and environmental well-being of the patient. Promote patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence. Coordinate and communicate with various disciplines or services involved in patient care. Coordinate efforts toward discharge goals established during the initial evaluation and throughout the episode of care. Act as a patient advocate. Perform other duties as assigned. Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based care, and home health care. For pediatric physical therapists: Evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions. Address motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, and gait. Conduct interviews with children and family members and use physical examination to diagnose movement disorders. Evaluate and treat patients aged 18 years and older. Float to adult units as needed if pediatric patient census fluctuates. Settings include inpatient and inpatient emergency department.
