Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - Interventional Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 14 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of five years of progressive technical experience required License: NYS license/registration or eligibility required Certifications: ARRT (must obtain within one year of appointment), CPR certification, Registration certification for Contrast Injection required Must-Have: AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent Description: The radiologic technologist is responsible for performing radiographic examinations under the direction of departmental radiologists. The technologist will greet the patient and explain the examination they are about to undergo. They will position the patient and set the proper exposure factors to obtain the required quality radiograph. The technologist will practice appropriate radiation safety and protection to ensure patients do not undergo undue radiation exposure. They will have sufficient knowledge to operate imaging equipment efficiently and effectively to obtain quality studies. The technologist will report any malfunctions with equipment to their immediate supervisor. They will be responsible for processing films and inputting information into the Radiology Information System for documentation purposes. This position requires the proper use of imaging equipment and adherence to department procedures and protocol as defined in the Policy and Procedure Manual. The radiologic technologist will provide radiologic examinations based on the needs of referring physicians and radiologists.
