Travel X-Ray Tech - $2,480 to $2,750 per week in Petoskey, MI

Position Summary The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of radiation therapy treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions and established protocols. This role involves performing treatment simulations, fabricating shielding blocks, maintaining accurate electronic medical records (EMR), and ensuring adherence to quality control, infection control, and radiation safety practices. The therapist will collaborate with medical staff and uphold the philosophy, goals, and standards of McLaren Northern Michigan to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, accurate, and effective radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the radiation oncologist. Perform patient treatment simulations and fabricate necessary shielding blocks. Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including performing daily quality assurance and control checks. Maintain accurate and detailed EMR documentation within ARIA. Adhere to infection control policies, radiation safety standards, and environmental safety protocols. Educate patients on treatment procedures, expected outcomes, and provide supportive care throughout the course of therapy. Collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. Maintain professional relationships with medical staff and participate in inter-disciplinary team cooperation. Stay current with advances in radiation therapy techniques, safety standards, and professional development requirements.
