Travel Radiation Therapist - $2,699 per week in New Orleans, LA

The hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, but storms may occur outside of this window. Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may assign the traveler to an Emergency Team. There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after a storm passes or to be part of the relief team. Specific details regarding pay will be communicated for each storm, as impacts can vary. By signing the travel contract, the traveler agrees to report as assigned by the unit manager in the event of a storm. Travelers should not apply if they are not comfortable with these conditions. The unit typically has two therapists per machine. Hours are four 10-hour days, but times may flex based on volumes. The average daily census is around 80 patients. The patient ratio is 1:1. Previous charge experience is preferred. Charting system experience is required. Candidates must have experience with community hospitals. Travel experience is required. Candidates will work with specific patient demographics, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Special equipment used includes Varian True Beam, Varian Trilogy, and GE CT Simulator. Local travelers are not accepted. Candidates must be over 65 miles from the facility and have two years of experience in the specialty. Compact or state license must be obtained prior to submission. References are not required for submission but will be needed for clearance to start the contract. This role requires certain certifications before starting. Please ensure necessary certifications and reports are up to date prior to submission. Travelers returning after working as permanent staff or contractors must have been separated from the facility for one full year.
