Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapy Specialty: FS Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum years of relevant experience required License: Current license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as an Occupational Therapist Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire Must-Have: - Knowledge of the principles and practices of professional occupational therapy and the materials and supplies utilized in the program. - Skill in organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities. - Ability to interpret prescriptions related to therapy needed. - Good interpersonal skills in establishing effective working relationships with staff. - Ability to communicate instructions and technical information to patients. - Some computer skills. Description: Under general supervision, performs professional occupational therapy activities consisting of planning, evaluating, establishing, and implementing individual and group treatment activities under the direction of a physician. Interpret a physician's referral and select an appropriate standardized evaluation procedure. Evaluate patients in the following areas: independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and various psychosocial skills. Interpret the data and develop a treatment plan involving short and long-term goals, frequency, and duration of treatment. Assist patients in carrying out these procedures through the design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices, joint protection, and body mechanics. Inform patients and families of goals and progress. Assist with discharge planning by ordering equipment and instructing patients on the home therapy plan. May supervise students. Performs other duties as assigned.
