Job Title: Oncology Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacist Specialty: Pharmacy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10H Days 4-10's M-TH Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a hospital setting License: License required Certifications: BLS, Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist or Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist preferred Must-Have: - Minimum of 3 years experience in a hospital setting - Bachelor's Degree and/or Pharm.D from an ACPE accredited institution - Experience as a licensed pharmacist in an oncology setting Description: The Oncology Pharmacist provides clinical oncology pharmacy services. They oversee the daily dispensing of chemotherapy. The pharmacist generally works in a cancer center and is available for questions and dose adjustments. They respond to hypersensitivity reactions and coordinate efficient dispensing of oncologic and non-oncologic treatments. The oncology pharmacist participates in the establishment and maintenance of cancer center and pharmacy projects. This includes developing new therapy plans and programs. They coordinate these activities through computer-based programs. The oncology pharmacist also serves the research program, overseeing the pharmacy portion of clinical trial protocols. They dispense investigational products and participate in site activation meetings. The oncology pharmacist attends oncology patient rounds and infusion room huddles. They also participate in relevant cancer center committees and meetings as assigned.
