Travel Pharmacist - $3,334 per week in Bakersfield, CA

Job Title: Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacist Duration: 18 weeks Shift: 10H Day, Evening Hours per Shift: 12pm - 10:30pm Experience: Minimum 3 years License: California licensed hospital pharmacist Certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) via BPS Must-Have: - Acute care experience - Experience with antibiotic stewardship program (ASP) functions - Experienced with sterile compounding - Familiarity with medication dispensing systems - Knowledge of Cerner or similar CPOE database Description: Must have acute care experience. Schedule consists of 8 on and 6 off. Shifts are 10 hours each. Responsibilities include all aspects of pharmacy operations including regulatory requirements. Must perform antibiotic stewardship program (ASP) functions such as vancomycin and aminoglycoside dosing, insulin and drug monitoring. Provide drug information to medical staff. Help staff on rare occasions for emergencies. Experience with ASP, sterile compounding, and medication dispensing systems is required. Pharmacy manager/supervisor experience is preferred. Pharmacy technician assistance is available. Scheduling usually follows a set rotation. Weekend work is expected every other weekend. There is no on-call requirement. Business casual or clean scrubs required. No open-toed shoes or Crocs allowed. Facial and excessive ear piercings must be covered or removed. Visible tattoos on the face, neck, arms, hands, or body must be covered. Department-specific orientation provided. IV compounding certification is desired. Any IT experience is considered a plus.
