Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: CT Technologist Duration: Full Time Shift: Varies Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the Department of Health Services, State of California (CRT) Certifications: Approved CPR certification Must-Have: ARRT and Fluoroscopy permit to be obtained within 6 months of hire Description: Under the general direction of the Manager, Radiology and the immediate supervision of the Lead Technologist, performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. The CT Technologist can perform all general diagnostic radiographic exams and CT exams. Assumes responsibility for designated areas as assigned. The Technologist operates CT equipment, prepares and administers contrast media, performs intravenous contrast injections, operates X-ray equipment, prepares the patient's room, equipment, supplies, and medications. The CT Technologist is responsible for quality control and enforcement of core values, standards of ethics, policies, and procedures. The CT Technologist supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of the Radiology Department. EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Desired: Two years of experience in diagnostic x-ray, one year of experience in CT. SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES: Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of human structure and function, cross-sectional anatomy, patient care, positioning, and principles of radiographic exposure. Possesses knowledge of quality assurance, radiation physics, radiation protection, radiobiology, and specialized techniques as required for a radiologic and CT technologist. Self-motivated, with excellent communication and critical thinking skills. Problem-solving techniques are required. Chico offers a pleasant, small-town atmosphere with no long commutes.
