Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Profession: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:00 - 16:00 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: State licensure required based on modality Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Certification in one of the following: - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) - Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) - Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) - Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) Must-Have: Certification in one of the listed modalities is required. Description: The Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I plays a critical role in supporting cardiac catheterization procedures. This role involves preparing the lab and operating essential equipment, including fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition. The technologist ensures accurate documentation of patient information and hemodynamic measurements. The position requires maintaining stringent aseptic technique and adherence to patient safety standards. Collaboration with the medical team is essential to optimize patient care and departmental efficiency. The technologist serves as the radiation safety representative during X-ray usage and continually develops proficiency in specialized cath lab technologies. Responsibilities include: Meeting expectations of applicable competencies. Promoting organizational principles of holistic care and mutual respect. Ensuring major equipment is operational and documenting as required for quality control. Participating in daily room checks and stocking supplies. Accessing daily patient schedules and appropriate patient information for assigned procedures. Ensuring appropriate equipment, supplies, and room configuration for procedures. Collaborating with the procedure team to assure optimal patient care and efficiency. Entering patient information into computer and imaging systems accurately. Documenting procedures, hemodynamic measurements, and ECG recognition. Ensuring proper patient positioning and safety on the procedure table. Training and achieving competencies in operating cath lab equipment. Supporting the physician and ensuring patient safety during procedures. Adhering to aseptic technique consistently. Following organizational policies related to patient safety, privacy, and infection control. Collaborating with team members to share knowledge and foster teamwork. Engaging in patient transport as appropriate. Maintaining proficiency in access site management. Acting as the radiation safety representative for patients and staff during X-ray usage.
