Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology Technologist Specialty: General Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5x8.0 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Two (2) years experience required License: NYS License (or able to obtain prior to start) Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) Must-Have: VIR Certification preferred Description: Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic quality. Works cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve problems expediently. Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when dealing with customers. Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity for patients' rights in all interfaces with patients. Instructs and prepares patients for examinations and assists Radiologist during procedures. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in operation of all equipment and reports malfunctions to manager or lead. Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner and uses time between procedures to assist others and aid with room turnover. Understands role in maintaining medication security to authorized personnel only. Demonstrates competency in providing health care services to all age groups. Demonstrates competency in interpersonal relationships with all age groups. Demonstrates competency in the use of Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS. Participates in performance improvement activities when warranted. Demonstrates confidentiality using own password and all patient care modules. Answers telephone inquiries of a technical nature while maintaining good phone etiquette.
