Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting (MML) specializes in automotive technologies for future mobility, including vehicle access experiences, intelligent vision systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and test circuit functions and user interfaces to meet company and customer needs.
  • Incorporate customer requirements, product specifications and regulations into the design, ensuring compliance with MML development processes, reliability, quality, timing, cost, safety and manufacturability.
  • Develop existing systems by analyzing and identifying areas for performance enhancements and cost reductions.
  • Maintain systems by monitoring, identifying and correcting hardware defects.
  • Conduct design reviews with peers, suppliers and customers when required.
  • Collaborate internally and externally to create robust electro-mechanical systems.
  • Communicate effectively with product teams, suppliers, customers, and manufacturing with minimal guidance from engineering management.
  • Investigate new components and technologies for future product applications.
  • Create technical specifications and test plans.
  • Work closely with project managers, sales and marketing professionals.
  • Consult with clients/colleagues regarding maintenance and performance of software systems, asking questions to obtain information and clarify details.
  • Update technical knowledge through courses, manuals and new applications.
  • Problem-solve individually or as part of a team to meet project needs.
  • Operate standard and specialized equipment/tools; analyze data and generate reports.
  • Understand communication protocols such as LIN, CAN, I2C, UART.
  • Acknowledge ASPICE, ALM, PLM, Sprints, WCCA, Functional Safety, Cybersecurity, Repository, Version Control, Design Reviews, Bench Testing, Unit Testing, System Testing, and related practices as part of the team’s success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering / 4-6 years experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to launch a product with a customer.
  • Understanding of impact and interdependence within the field of expertise.
  • Complete understanding of engineering design, development and manufacturing processes.
  • Deep and broad technical understanding with up-to-date knowledge of new methods and technologies.
  • Ability to execute complex work assignments requiring independent problem solving and decision-making.
