Overview

Cybersecurity Engineer role at Samaritan's Purse in the Information Technology department, Boone, NC. You will design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect the ministry's infrastructure, cloud environments, and applications, supporting the work of the Gospel through secure and reliable technology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
• Work independently and with the cybersecurity team and cross-functional teams to design, implement, secure, and maintain technology solutions, improvements, and upgrades.
• Monitor security alerts, logs, and reports; investigate potential incidents and coordinate responses as necessary.
• Contribute to the cybersecurity incident response team; provide on-call support and ensure adherence to SLAs and operating procedures.
• Identify and address security vulnerabilities and threats to the technology stack; prioritize findings and coordinate remediation efforts with teams.
• Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies; provide insights and recommendations to enhance the organization\'s security posture.
• Share cybersecurity knowledge and guidance with cybersecurity team members and cross-functional teams; adapt communication to address various cybersecurity needs.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor\'s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; five to seven years of related experience and/or training.
• Minimum of one cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, OSCP, GIAC, or similar).
• General knowledge of technologies including network infrastructure, compute infrastructure, and a variety of cybersecurity tools and solutions (SIEM, EDR, SOAR, vulnerability management, DLP, encryption, IAM).
• 12 credit hours of Biblical Studies (required); if not completed, opportunity to meet and complete the requirement available upon hire.
