Role Overview
The purpose of the Production Analyst is to support manufacturing goals and metrics for tissue converting productivity, cost, and quality. Provide analysis of cost, waste and production metrics to all levels of plant management, production, maintenance and engineering teams. Identify improvement opportunities for plant teams to drive improvement in manufacturing output, overall efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production data analysis and reports to Plant Manager and manufacturing teams to support achievement of KPIs and manufacturing goals.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities; prepare summary reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Perform production modeling on current and future SKUs to optimize line loading, production rates, efficiency, capacity utilization, and forecasting.
- Develop and update automated reporting tools using SQL queries and VBA macros; create advanced tracking reports for key metrics (OEE, tonnage, time efficiency, cost of goods manufactured).
- Generate and publish daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual production reports (e.g., Daily Production Consolidated Report, Monthly Summary, KPI tracking).
- Conduct detailed analyses to identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities; perform ROI/payback analysis for potential CAPEX projects.
- Track and reconcile raw material consumption, finished goods inventory, and waste; investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with production, PPIC, and quality teams.
- Manage tracking systems for inventory inputs/outputs; oversee quality-related SKU resolution and rework processes.
- Support month-end reporting requirements and prepare ad hoc analyses as requested by management and HQ teams.
- Apply PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology to continuously improve reporting and production processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including Production, Quality, Logistics, PPIC, and Engineering—on reporting, analysis, and improvement initiatives.
- Participate in special projects and provide analytical support to the Plant Manager and leadership as required.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Engineering or Operations Management
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical role and in manufacturing
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills including organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Experience in costing, budgets, financial analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Ability to use array formulas, pivot tables, advanced functions and modeling within Excel
- Working knowledge in SAP
- Excellent oral, written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization
