Position Summary
The Production Coordinator supports general business operations and works closely with Production, Design and Sales teams to issue purchase orders with overseas vendors for the manufacture of licensed apparel items. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as it involves coordinating shipments, monitoring production timelines, handling physical packages, and assisting in the approval process. The Coordinator will use Excel and PowerPoint to manage data, create presentations, and support reporting functions. Under general supervision, this role exercises independent judgment to ensure production efficiency and compliance with internal and external requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams to create and issue purchase orders with overseas vendors.
- Follow up with manufacturers on new production orders and revisions to ensure alignment with production schedules.
- Manage and track all incoming import shipments; communicate shipment details to relevant internal teams.
- Handle physical packages, including sorting, distributing, and sending as part of production and sample management.
- Track and coordinate the submission of samples for buyers, licensing, and testing approvals.
- Monitor weekly production reports to ensure programs are adhering to timelines.
- Assist in the preparation of internal reports and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Support the Senior Production Manager and SVP in various administrative and project-based tasks.
- Work on and follow through with necessary internal and external approvals related to production, shipments, and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in production coordination or management, including communication with overseas factories and cost negotiations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (creating, maintaining, and analyzing spreadsheets).
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for business reporting and presentations.
- General knowledge of apparel construction and screen printing.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
