PPG Industries, Inc is hiring: Production Engineer in Westlake

As the Production Engineer, you will provide process and technical support to a unit within a manufacturing facility in the Precipitated Silica business. You will work with the Area Manager, Production Technician, and unit operators to maintain production and safety within the assigned area.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor daily unit operations and performance of the assigned production area, providing technical assistance.
2. Support unit shutdowns and outages with technical input.
3. Provide engineering support for multiple plant capital projects from conception through startup. Prepare Scope of Work for new capital projects. Act as Project Sponsor on specific projects.
4. Apply technical knowledge to develop and implement process and capital improvements for the long-term success of the operating unit.
5. Identify and lead continuous improvement projects focusing on cost reduction, production efficiency, energy savings, and waste minimization.
6. Contribute to the production, capital, and operating expense budgets.
7. Collaborate with onsite and offsite teams including Maintenance/Reliability, Instrumentation, Electrical & Controls (I&E), Accounting, Commercial Logistics, and Vendors.
8. Track inputs for equipment improvements related to Equipment Availability/Reliability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
9. Understand energy requirements for the production unit to support sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, Mechanical preferred).
• 0 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing/operations or process engineering.
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience in project planning, execution, and budgeting is beneficial but not required.
