Job Description
Danfoss is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer whose primary responsibility will be to design and implement processes to enable the organization to meet targets for both existing and new products in a continuous improvement manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing Engineer will be a part of a team that closely works with employees to achieve key performance indicators for safety, quality, delivery and cost.
This role will work daily out of our Shawnee, Oklahoma facility and will report to the Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Relocation for this role may be available. However, support for work authorization cannot be provided.
Job Responsibilities
- Support and actively participate in the development of products, manufacturing processes, and infrastructure.
- Designs, implements, and improves manufacturing processes using Lean tools such as line balancing, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Analyses and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Willing to be hands-on, flexible, and committed to the success of the company goals.
- Develop production testers to ensure system performance.
- Influence, lead, and work in cooperation with cross-functional teams to meet changing demands.
- Evaluates and implements new technologies within manufacturing and automation.
- Confers with planning and design teams concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods and design for automation.
- Project management - plan development and execution.
- Facilitate project meetings with appropriate business content and cascading communication
- Collaborates with suppliers to determine product specifications, arranges equipment, materials or parts for purchase, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Have a strong shop floor presence.
- Respond to escalations and help to resolve issues quickly.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture
Requirements
- BSME, BSIE, BSAE, or degree in related fields.
- Five years minimum experience in manufacturing processes with proven success in implementing process or product improvements using advanced quality tools and/or lean manufacturing concepts.
- Understanding of finance, capital appropriations, and budgeting practices
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously be self-motivated, and eager to accept new responsibilities.
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately high.
