Facilities Management is responsible for the effective operation of Irvine campus buildings, grounds and utilities; for providing a safe, functionally suitable and aesthetic environment in support of academic, research and public service programs of the University.
Your Role on the Team
Covered under University series concepts/job specification for Custodian. Under supervision, incumbents perform semiskilled or skilled cleaning, housekeeping or general maintenance.
Performs individually or as part of a team. Incumbents may experience a varying degree of contact with the public depending on the nature, location and assigned hours of work.
Makes recommendations to improve processes and/or procedures.
What It Takes to be Successful
- Valid California Driver's License
- Experience in specialist janitorial operations.
- Previous general custodial experience.
- Substantial experience in Carpet and Hard Floor Care
- General knowledge of safety precautions in the use of equipment, chemicals, lifting, customer traffic, etc.
- Understand emergency preparation and response plan.
- Cleaning Skills: Able to sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, polish, perform overhead cleaning, wash walls & windows, clean bathrooms, kitchens, office areas and other building surfaces.
