Overview

The Retail Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Retail Managers with the day-to-day operations of the Rock Shop, ensuring guest satisfaction, contributing to business growth, and ensuring all standards and legal obligations are followed.

Position reports directly to the Retail Manager and is based in a cafe.

Responsibilities

  1. Greet employees at the start of their shift to promote a positive atmosphere.
  2. Provide employees with verbal recognition, direction, and support.
  3. Motivate employees daily with a positive attitude and open communication.
  4. Communicate with employees about restaurant, regional, and corporate procedures.
  5. Collaborate with managers to evaluate work procedures and identify efficiency improvements.
  6. Train and empower employees to exercise good judgment in guest service.
  7. Monitor and coach employees on performance and compliance.
  8. Use the daily retail R.A.P. Sheet to communicate goals and trends.
  9. Report to management on employees not meeting standards.
  10. Ensure safety, sanitation, and security procedures are followed.
  11. Gather feedback from customers, employees, and managers for performance improvement.
  12. Prepare retail staff for shifts and ensure the shop is ready to operate according to standards.
  13. Schedule breaks and zone assignments.
  14. Create and modify weekly work schedules based on volume and trends.

Sales And Profits

  1. Open and close the retail store, completing checklists.
  2. Balance staffing for cost-effective operations.
  3. Inspect fixtures and physical store conditions, addressing minor issues.
  4. Manage product levels and organize visual displays to boost sales.
  5. Supervise staff during stock, sales, and customer assistance activities.
  6. Assist with inventory management and back stock filling.
  7. Verify cash and deposit accuracy at checkouts.
  8. Review sales performance reports.
  9. Supervise deliveries and ensure billing accuracy.
  10. Ensure store readiness and contribute to financial growth through sales and expense management.
  11. Train and retain staff to deliver excellent customer service and meet sales goals.
  12. Develop new promotional strategies to increase sales and profits.

Qualifications

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • 3-5 years of supervisor experience.
  • Knowledge of inventory, P&L, and key holder responsibilities.
  • High volume supervisor experience preferred.
  • GED or high school diploma preferred.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual skills preferred.
  • Flexible schedule availability.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move throughout the facility, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift objects up to 10 pounds.

  • Ability to travel as needed.
