Overview

We are seeking an experienced Office Manager for an established engineering firm in Columbia, SC. This is a full-time, permanent onsite position. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth day-to-day operations across finance, HR, administration, and facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee firm finances, banking, and financial compliance
  • Manage accounting: AP/AR, cash flow, reconciliations, and statements
  • Handle vendor negotiations and financial certifications
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws
  • Support hiring, onboarding, payroll, and benefits
  • Manage insurance (liability, health, workers’ comp, etc.)
  • Review contracts and support administrative workflows
  • Develop and implement policies to enhance efficiency
  • Oversee office equipment, IT systems, and service providers
  • Manage building maintenance and vendor coordination for cleaning, landscaping, etc.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in Deltek Vision, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in engineering industry a plus
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Monday to Friday (standard business hours)
