General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in everything you do.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect; greeting customers and maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Assist Customers as needed—register-trained; help with merchandise and answer questions politely and knowledgeably.
- Provide prompt responses to Customers; respond to service calls and involve Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks to maintain store cleanliness and replenish supplies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
- Conduct daily sizing and recovery to keep a neat, well-merchandised store.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and maintain brand/name familiarity to assist Customers.
- Understand Loss Prevention Awareness, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follow MOS policies and proper processing of disposals; maintain accuracy with cash, checks, and refunds.
- Maximize productivity by adhering to store best practices and reducing unnecessary steps.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/ADA
- Ability to use Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.
