Hiring Range: $15.44 - $17.04

Starting salary may be adjusted depending on experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining city streets, roadways, and related infrastructure, including paving, repairs, and surface preparation.
• Maintaining city sewers, including flushing and debris removal.
• Landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and grounds cleaning.
• Operating light-duty equipment, backhoe, and dump truck.
• Performing routine maintenance of parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, and related facilities.
• Assisting with construction and repair of city structures like bridges, fences, and water lines.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance, construction, and repair work.
• Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver's Permit.

Preferred qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with roadway repairs, stormwater system maintenance, and operation of light equipment like chainsaws, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, and mowers.
• Concrete or masonry experience is a plus.
