Join Waste Connections as a Heavy Equipment Technician at our Landfill in Buffalo Creek, TX. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing our Dozers, Excavators, Compactors, trucks, and various smaller equipment in our solid waste landfill.

Your Responsibilities:
Order parts and establish strong relationships with equipment vendors.
Perform repairs and preventive maintenance services, including inspections and diagnosing issues with electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on various vehicles and equipment.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and conduct repairs on-site at the landfill.
Comfortably operate and work on heavy equipment; previous field experience is a bonus.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment regularly.
Complete necessary documentation using fleet maintenance software for repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
Review and address repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Perform other maintenance-related tasks as required.
Maintain a clean and safe work area in line with corporate and OSHA standards.
Adhere to established safety procedures while performing all work duties.
Communicate effectively regarding needed repairs and tasks.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Extensive physical activity is required, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
The work environment may be indoors in a shop or outdoors at the landfill, often in well-lit and ventilated areas but can involve awkward positions and handling of dirty tools. Safety precautions are essential.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, specifically with heavy equipment, is required.
You must own personal tools to perform your duties.
What We Offer:
$35+ per hour based on experience.
