Production Manager Job at PPG Industries, Inc in Barberton

Overview

As the Production Manager, you will manage all operations for Teslin production within the Barberton facility, including operations management, quality supervision, process engineers, and production supervisors. You will oversee multiple operational activities (bulk material handling, extrusion, calendaring, extraction, distillation, and web handling) including planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/throughput targets, product loss targets, and all quality standards. You will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be located onsite in Barberton, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Meet all business metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost, along with employee engagement and culture.
• Collaborate with all departments including project engineering, maintenance, supply chain, EHS, technical department, and any other function required to meet goals.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve OEE to meet production demands of the growing Teslin business and contribute to overall facility goals.
• Monitor and develop actions for continued improvement in environmental performance to meet regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor2s degree required, chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.
• 7+ years minimum experience managing individuals.
• Previous experience with continuous improvement methodologies required (Lean preferred).
• Experience with EHS and building a safety culture.
• Hands-on leadership style required, willing to get involved to help solve problems and troubleshoot.
