ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

  • Assignment Length: 8 weeks
  • Start Date: October 27, 2025
  • End Date: December 20, 2025
  • Employment Type: Travel nursing contract
  • Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm – 7:00am)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2250 - $2310
  • Floating: Required to all units except Behavioral Health and Emergency Room (unless holding)
  • Scrub Color: Navy

ICU RN Qualifications And Requirements

  • Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (multi-state RN licenses accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, Medical-Surgical ICU, or Neuro ICU)
  • Charge nurse experience preferred
  • Current AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex required
  • Cardiac/heart ICU experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
  • Up-to-date nursing resume and two recent ICU Charge/Manager RN references
  • Skills checklist matching ICU specialty
  • Valid driver’s license with address matching application demographics
  • NURSYS report for RN license verification
  • At least 1 year of ICU RN experience required

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate critical care to patients in a 42-bed ICU (Neuro/Med, CTICU, Surgical/Trauma)
  • Utilize advanced critical care equipment: IABP, CRRT (PRISMA or NxStage), Ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and TTM (Artic Sun)
  • Manage patients with complex diagnoses: stroke, sepsis, respiratory failure, CHF, post-STEMI, cardiovascular surgery, trauma, and major post-op cases
  • Float to various ICU units as needed (excluding Behavioral Health and ER unless holding)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR
