• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Rochester, NY 14621 (Upstate New York healthcare jobs)
• Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Bed Count: 16-bed CICU
• Floating: Required as needed
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)
• Local Candidates: Must reside more than 75 miles from facility
  
  

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience (required)
• Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
• First-time travel nurses welcome!
  
  

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care to patients with complex diagnoses: sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest, and more
• Manage advanced therapies and equipment: CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, Impella
• Perform and assist with ICU procedures: arterial line management, central line care, chest tube insertion/removal, wound care
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, sedation, and emergency medications
• Interpret ABGs, dysrhythmias, and obtain 12-lead EKGs
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
