Travel Nursing Details

• Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing
• Specialty: Perianesthesia Care (PACU)
• Location: Louisville, Kentucky 40202
• Healthcare Facility: Academic Medical Center, 2nd Floor PACU
• Unit Size: 18 beds
• Assignment Start Date: October 27, 2025
• Assignment End Date: January 26, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:30pm – 8:00am (12 Hour Night Shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed)
• Weekend/Call: As needed per department
• Float: PACU only
• Dress Code: Surgical scrubs provided

PACU RN Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience
• At least 3 years of ICU/Critical Care nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Proficient in ventilator management, medication drips, arterial line management, lumbar/EVD drains, and dysrhythmia identification
• Strong critical thinking, reliability, independence, and teamwork skills
• Transplant nursing experience (kidney and pancreas) preferred

PACU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients from general surgery, neurology, vascular, transplant, and other specialties
• Monitor and manage patients using advanced clinical equipment (ventilators, Alaris pumps, EKG machines)
• Follow ASPAN guidelines for patient ratios and acuity
• Perform initial recovery with 1:1 patient care during rotation
• Manage medication drips, arterial lines, lumbar/EVD drains, and identify cardiac dysrhythmias
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Advocate for patients and maintain accountability for nursing care
