ER RN Travel Job Details

• Location: Garden City, KS 67846 (Kansas nursing jobs)
• Setting: Emergency Room (ER nurse jobs)
• Employment Type: Travel/Locum Tenens
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3x12 hour shifts per week)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/13/2025 – End: 1/10/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820 - $1950

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
• Minimum 1 year of recent emergency room nursing experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients’ physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs in the emergency room
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions: IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection
• Advocate for patient health, safety, and rights in the ER setting
• Educate patients and families, assess learning readiness, and evaluate effectiveness of teaching
• Deliver culturally competent, relationship-based care to diverse patient populations
• Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel per Kansas state and hospital policy
• Serve as a professional role model, mentor, and preceptor for new staff and nursing students
• Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and clinical research initiatives
• Maintain professional records and pursue continuing education to ensure clinical competency
