Forklift Driver (2nd shift) Job at Kraft Heinz in Holland

Overview

Forklift Driver (2nd shift) at Kraft Heinz. This role involves unloading raw materials from trucks, supplying production departments with materials and ingredients, removing finished goods from production areas, storing materials properly, and loading finished goods onto trucks. There is room for growth within the factory.

Responsibilities

• Work in a safe manner following plant safety rules, including PPE requirements and escalating safety defects to leads/supervisors.
• Meet or exceed quality standards by following GMP requirements, inspecting materials, completing quality documentation, assisting in rework, and escalating quality defects as needed.
• Operate and support forklift activities: set up, changeovers, shut down, operate with rotational forks, transport totes/equipment, and troubleshoot as necessary.
• Support the Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS) at the operator level: participate in shift hand-offs, Level 1 meetings, performance boards, CLM, CIL, 5S, defect handling, startup/shut down, changeovers, and daily problem handling.
• Collaborate with support departments to improve line performance and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

• Second Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with $1.00 shift differential.
• Ability to work all shifts as required by training needs.
• Occasional overtime on weekends as needed.

Location

Holland Factory, Holland, MI.

Plant & Team

• Over 300 employees; union facility (RWDSU).
• Products include sweet relish, Grey Poupon mustard, yellow mustard, vinegar, pickle variations, BBQ sauce.

Qualifications

• Upon hire, training to become Lock Out Tag Out certified and maintain qualification.
• Must successfully pass forklift training and maintain operator qualification.
• Must successfully pass on-the-job training and maintain operator qualification.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math (multiplication and addition).

Physical Demands

Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally 50-100 pounds; standing, walking, and repetitive use of hands; exposure to moving mechanical parts, high noise levels, chemicals, and fumes.

Work Environment

Exposed to moving mechanical parts, high noise, chemicals, odors, fumes, and slippery floors; use of PPE including safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and protective equipment as required.
