What To Expect The Energy Electrical Engineering team designs the eyes, ears, and brains of Tesla’s Vehicle & Optimus charging and residential/industrial energy storage products. This skilled and motivated individual will keep pushing this evolving industry forward by designing and developing best-in-class wireless communication solutions.
What You'll Do
Design and develop RF hardware/system and/or antenna designs for energy products
Collaborate with electrical, antenna design, mechanical, firmware, EMC, compliance, reliability, and manufacturing test engineers
Take full ownership of the wireless design process—from specification through design, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing
Review schematics and guide layout from RF perspective, perform impedance matching, bring up and validate wireless hardware
Drive RF module and IC suppliers to develop roadmap and best-in-class RF performance
What You'll Bring
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
3+ years relevant work experience
Knowledge of RF hardware design or antenna design. Experience reviewing RF schematics and PCB layouts to ensure adherence to best practices
Experience integrating wireless technologies into products
Deep understanding of system-level RF parameters (e.g., power, sensitivity, throughput, latency) in at least one wireless technology
Hands-on experience with RF lab test instruments
Debugging experience with wireless radio systems at the conducted or radiated level
Experience commercializing wireless products which require international regulatory certifications
Knowledge of electromagnetic simulation tools
Knowledge of multi-radio co-existence and RF desense mitigation

Expected Compensation
$100,160 - $225,840/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
