Overview
Level III Thermal Analyst - Lunar Permanence at Blue Origin. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Moon landers and related products. You will contribute to the definition and development of spacecraft thermal control systems and work with NASA and national partners as part of the HLS Sustaining Lunar Development program. Perform system-level transient thermal analysis of lunar transport vehicles across ground, launch, Earth orbit, cis-lunar space, lunar orbit, and lunar surface environments using Thermal Desktop. Capture system inputs, construct and vet analysis models, conduct system-level trade studies, and generate temperature and heat transfer predictions. Document results and communicate findings to team members and stakeholders. Collaborate with NASA and National Team Partners as part of the HLS SLD program to support safe human spaceflight. Qualifications
Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering 5 years of relevant Thermal Engineering/Analysis experience Solid understanding of thermal fundamentals Demonstrated thermal analysis skills Familiarity with modeling spacecraft thermal performance using Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint Desired
M.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering 8 years of relevant aerospace experience Demonstrated expertise with modeling spacecraft thermal performance using Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint Experience solving a variety of thermal problems demonstrating breadth in analysis applications Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, FORTRAN, Matlab) Compensation
CA applicants: $117,498.00–$164,497.20; CO applicants: $107,707.00–$150,789.45; WA applicants: $117,498.00–$164,497.20 Benefits
