Sr. Manager, Risk Management (H)

University of Miami . The department of Risk Management has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Sr. Manager, Risk Management to work on the UHealth campus. The Sr. Manager implements and supervises risk management programs, monitors risk control, reduction, and prevention programs, and strives to minimize injuries and adverse events to patients. Core Job Functions
Investigates and analyzes patient injuries. Coordinates and maintains the event reporting system (ERS), reviews event reports, identifies trends, and develops corrective recommendations. Provides risk management assessments of processes, procedures, and programs. Department Specific Functions
Manages incident reporting, reviews event reports, patient grievances, and complaints to identify high-risk areas. Facilitates resolution of quality-of-care complaints and collaborates with Patient Relations and Physician Leadership. Reviews and reports regulatory events to senior risk management staff. Participates in root cause analyses and collaborates with the Quality Team. Develops relationships with departments to foster a patient-focused culture. Communicates potentially compensable events to relevant authorities. Conducts investigations and assists with legal discovery as needed. Interprets risk management standards, counsels staff, and analyzes data for trends. Prepares reports for committees and revises policies accordingly. Develops and presents risk management education and participates in professional conferences. Supervises risk management staff and co-chairs the Patient Safety Committee. Coordinates credentialing and survey readiness activities. Oversees quality and regulatory activities, updating policies as necessary. Core Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Medical/Legal background, RN licensure, and certifications like CPHRM or CPPS are highly desirable. Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes
Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Problem-solving and sound judgment abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. The position is full-time, staff level, with a pay grade of H15, located in Miami, FL, with a salary range of $175,300 - $322,900. This job is active and accepting applications.
