HSE Manager
to join the HSE team. The ideal candidate will have education, training, and experience in the construction HSE field and a high level of passion and dedication to the health and well-being of others. Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of HSE management systems that support project needs, including site-specific plans and programs. Provide technical and behavioral leadership and guidance to the assigned project. Develop, facilitate, and/or conduct HSE training, and ensure training is tracked internally as required. Assist management and supervision in planning, recognizing, evaluating, and mediating risk. Provide direction and guidance for employees under supervision. Regularly communicate the status of the project’s HSE culture and performance with project and Nox Management. Provide timely and accurate reporting with internal and external support, including claims processing, return to work, light duty assignments, closure of claims, and resolving discrepancies as needed. Lead investigations of incidents, including causal analyses, and prepare incident reports. Communicate effectively and regularly with Nox personnel, clients, trade partners, visitors, and vendors. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Prefer a minimum of 6 years of construction HSE experience. At least two years in an HSE leadership role, with experience in craft and work activities to be performed on the project (e.g., electrical, welding, crane, equipment operation, rigging). Capable of providing HSE management for midsize to large projects (≤750 employees). Ability to manage teams of 3-10 HSE professionals. Thorough understanding of construction work practices and contracts/subcontracts. Excellent written and verbal communication with proper grammar and spelling. Advanced understanding of all aspects of HSE management, including workers' compensation, disciplinary action, subcontractor management, environmental management, personnel development, law, policies, and client management. Advanced knowledge of behavior-based safety and human performance initiatives. Ability to positively motivate others and establish a positive, professional rapport with all employees and clients. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, unassisted, frequently. Ability to work from various heights using ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms. Able to work a 40-hour work week with overtime and off-hour shifts as required. Able to work in extreme weather conditions and outdoors/indoor environments (heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, snow).
Education & Certifications
CHST, OHST, ASP (BCSP), CSD (NASP), or BS in OSH On path to obtain CSP or SMS (BCSP), or MSP (NASP) Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge of OSHA standards and other applicable regulations CPR/AED/First Aid Certification Safety
This is a safety-sensitive position; all applicable policies including drug testing and background checks will apply. The role may involve inherent physical responsibilities, including lifting up to 50 pounds and tasks that require pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching, walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, and climbing. May involve operating a motor vehicle, crane, tractor, etc. We reserve the right to monitor your ability to safely perform these duties in accordance with the ADA.
