Overview

Director of Hospitality, Culinary, and Lodge Operations — Hocking College. The Director provides visionary leadership for hospitality, culinary, baking, and events programs, while overseeing the daily operations of the Hocking College Lodge and Conference Center. This integrated role ensures that academic excellence and workforce readiness are connected to real-world application through the Lodge as a live learning laboratory. Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr. Responsibilities

Academic & Program Leadership: Provide academic guidance, personnel supervision, and program advocacy for all hospitality, culinary, and baking programs. Supervise faculty and adjunct instructors, ensuring instructional quality and adherence to accreditation and institutional standards. Lead domestic and international student recruitment efforts, developing targeted strategies to attract, enroll, and retain students across all hospitality and culinary programs. Support curriculum development, student advising, recruitment, and retention initiatives. Foster domestic and international partnerships to strengthen enrollment pipelines. Instruct courses within hospitality and/or culinary disciplines. Lead assessment, program review, and accreditation compliance efforts. Experiential Learning & Lodge Integration: Ensure the Lodge functions as a structured experiential learning environment for students, directly tied to program learning outcomes. Oversee operational standards of the Lodge (front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, events) with the primary goal of supporting student learning. Embed service-learning, internships, and practicum opportunities into Lodge operations. Work with faculty to align Lodge activities with curricular objectives. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of hospitality professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities for team members. Manage staffing levels, recruitment, and training to ensure that the Lodge is adequately staffed with skilled personnel. Lodge & Conference Center Operations: Oversee daily operations of the Lodge, including front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and events. Implement and maintain high service standards for guest satisfaction, safety, and cleanliness. Integrate hospitality and culinary students into Lodge operations as structured service-learning opportunities. Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency in operations. Industry & Community Engagement: Develop and maintain partnerships with local, regional, and international hospitality organizations. Promote professional development and workforce training opportunities, including short-term non-credit programs. Strengthen advisory committee involvement and industry-aligned initiatives for program growth. Represent Hocking College hospitality and culinary programs at professional and community events. Business & Revenue Support: Support the financial sustainability of the Lodge in alignment with academic objectives. Oversee marketing, sales, and event development at the Lodge to enhance both student learning and community engagement. Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and profitability of entrepreneurial ventures associated with the program. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel or lodge management, with a strong background in sales and marketing. Proven track record of driving revenue growth and achieving financial targets. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of hospitality industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape. Proficiency in using hotel management software and sales/marketing tools. Working Conditions

The Director will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires flexibility, adaptability, and a strong focus on guest satisfaction. This role may require occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work, depending on the needs of the Lodge and the events scheduled.
