Assistant Project Manager - K-12 Construction (Anticipated Opening) – Turner & Townsend Heery. Turne r & Townsend Heery is seeking an Assistant Project Manager responsible for medium to large sized projects for our Chicago-area public school and government clients. This role requires onsite presence 4 days a week and is approximately 15 miles west of downtown Chicago. Applicants should consider this commute when applying. Initiating, coordinating, managing, and accomplishing the design for all assigned projects. Ensure compliance with Design Standards, Code Compliance, Sustainability Requirements and provide Construction Phasing and Implementation. Manage all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for projects. Read, understand and apply standard and complex documents affecting design projects, including agreements/contracts, leases, work letters, project charters, surveys and drawings. Develop Design Task Orders based on approved scope. Gathers design team proposals, reviews for compliance with Task Order, reviews cost proposals and man-hour projections, schedule milestones, insurance requirements and other legal requirements. Manage Submittal and Review Process through design phases (35% Schematic Design, 65% Design Development, 95% Construction Documents and 100% Issue for Bid Sets). Implement communication plan for meetings and written reports/minutes to keep client and project resources informed. Facilitate project meetings and implement project documentation governance aligned with company and client requirements. Ensure project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely and coordinated. Track progress against goals, budgets, and schedules; report status and variances; create action plans to meet objectives. Implement change management routines to assess change requests, secure client approvals, and issue change orders; assess impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk. Demonstrate knowledge of projects and project management within the context of business results. Other duties as assigned. SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role where applicable. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or similar field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar, in assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity. Facility construction experience preferred. Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing). Detail-oriented with strong work ethic; skilled in data processing and analytics. Experience with MS Excel and MS Project preferred. Ability to solve advanced problems, analyze options in complex situations, and read architectural drawings. Knowledge of MS Project, contracts, and construction practices. Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $65K-$115K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, not total compensation. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range based on experience and qualifications.
