Overview
Related Companies is seeking a Director of Procurement to support the development of the Procurement team’s core functions, including spend analysis, strategic sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing strategies for goods and services. The role leverages spend across the organization to optimize pricing benefits and terms of service through economies of scale. The Director will deliver consistent savings and value for Related’s property partners through effective negotiation and execution of strategic sourcing events. This position reports to the Vice President of Procurement and is based in New York with a hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of the overall strategy and go‑forward vision for the procurement function. Partner with the Vice President of Procurement to establish and update sourcing and procurement policies and procedures. Identify and deliver opportunities to maximize cost savings, mitigate risks, and enhance quality of services provided. Conduct comprehensive spend analyses, market benchmarking, and category analyses across various categories. Lead competitive sourcing events by collaborating with internal stakeholders to define requirements and develop effective bid documentation. Negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels across a diverse range of goods and services. Execute multiple purchasing initiatives while managing risk and optimizing available resources. Monitor supplier performance, enforce SLAs, and drive continuous improvement across key supplier relationships and business units. Serve as a trusted business advisor, providing strategic insights and recommendations to support procurement-related decisions. Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000–$140,000 per year. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual base salary will be determined by experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or MBA in a technical or business-related field. Minimum 7 years of strategic sourcing experience, including purchasing strategy, contract negotiation, and competitive price analysis. Familiarity with real estate development and property management activities, including experience in the following categories: Building maintenance / repair services Property management operations Fixed assets / equipment purchases IT hardware / software / services Marketing / travel / consulting services Utilities / telecom Office supplies Strong analytical, project management and negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering measurable cost savings and operational improvements. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with staff and leadership across all levels. Highly self-motivated and results-oriented.
