Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our West Region’s leadership team in the role of Director- Quality & Safety. The Director of Quality & Safety provides strategic, operational, and thought leadership to support the goals of Indiana University Health. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of the Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Infection Prevention (IP) Program(s) within the region, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, medical staff, and senior leadership. This leader collaborates with colleagues to ensure measurable improvements in health outcomes, the prevention of medical errors, and the reduction of patient harm. The Director of Quality & Safety directs, facilitates, and influences the alignment of clinical quality, patient safety, and infection prevention improvement efforts within the region, promoting the adoption of local and national benchmarks for best practices. Key Relationships : Reports to Vice President – Chief Medical Officer Requirements : Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred. Physician, Pharmacist, or Registered Nurse preferred. 7-10 years of relevant experience required. Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) is preferred, must be obtained within 3 years of employment. Requires experience with complex matrix organizations, building trusting relationships, influencing through indirect authority, and inspiring and aligning diverse stakeholders to achieve a common vision. Requires knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations. Rapid Cycle PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma or IHI Model for Improvement experience is preferred Indiana University Health is unlike any other healthcare system and we're looking for team members who share the things that matter most to us.
