T & T Supermarket Reporting to the Store Manager, the Produce Department Manager is responsible for Produce department operation by achieving its profit/loss results, business goals, customer requests. The position also needs to support the Store Manager on other matters as assigned. T&T Supermarkets is marking over 30 years as Canada’s favorite Asian grocery store and recently announced multiple new store locations in the United States. Our growth into the US offers great opportunities within our first US flagship store, opened in 2024 in Bellevue, Washington in the Marketplace at Factoria, spanning 76,000 sq.ft. and standing as the largest Asian specialty supermarket in Washington state. We have established our regional office in the greater Los Angeles area to grow T&T Supermarket’s vendor base with American food suppliers. Responsibilities
Oversee department performance, including merchandise management, ordering, and execution of promotional activities to achieve departmental goals. Supervise daily operations and staff performance to ensure efficiency and service excellence. Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and mentorship to team members; foster a supportive and inclusive work environment. Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring FIFO practices are strictly followed. Collect and analyze market data to develop appropriate action plans and improve competitiveness. Perform quality checks during receiving and manage inventory in both display and walk-in coolers. Deliver excellent customer service by being friendly, attentive, and responsive; handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally. Promote teamwork and lead by example through hands-on involvement in daily tasks within the Produce Department. Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the department. Requirements
Good communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role preferred, demonstrating strong leadership and training abilities Basic knowledge of profit and loss control; able to interpret data and analyze market trends Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Well-versed in workplace health and safety practices. Strong knowledge of merchandise management, including inventory control and promotional execution Familiar with tools and equipment relevant to the role; able to accurately interpret product labels Excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
