Overview Deacon Construction, LLC

is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to provide regional safety management for our Northern California projects. This position works independently and reports to the Operations Managers, while collaborating with other Regional safety managers on companywide issues. Building cooperative and supportive relationships at all levels of the office and project teams is imperative.

Compensation This range is provided by Deacon Construction, LLC. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Review and oversee subcontract safety programs concurrently on multiple projects (3-5).

Ensure subcontractor regulatory and contract safety compliance.

Assist project managers and superintendents with safety-related preconstruction activities.

Apply for and acquire Cal OSHA Project and Crane Permits.

Develop site safety plans per regulations and owner contracts.

Assist superintendents/supervisors in developing site-specific emergency procedures and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs).

Develop and/or facilitate site-specific training.

Coordinate and complete weekly site safety audits with project supervision.

Develop and/or facilitate quarterly field and office staff training.

Conduct senior-level accident investigations for serious accidents or serious incidents.

Review all accidents and incidents to ensure remediation of root causes.

Participate actively in community events organized by safety professionals, including regulatory agencies and citizen groups, striving to promote safety and accident prevention.

Work with project teams to obtain OSHA Height permit.

Provide companywide safety guidance collaboratively.

Complete companywide safety initiatives collaboratively or independently as requested.

Minimum requirements

5 years of related safety and health experience.

Instructor-level competency in Fall Protection Safety, Fire Safety, Excavation Safety, Heat Illness Safety, and Silica Safety.

A Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is a plus but not required.

All safety certifications considered and ASP/CSP/CHST/OHST a plus but not required.

Interest and ability in continuing Safety education.
