Summary
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager leads and manages all aspects of environmental, health, and safety compliance across multiple sites and states. This role ensures a safe and compliant workplace by developing, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures, and initiatives in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. The EHS Manager collaborates with various departments to promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
As Haas expands into a new 2.4 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Henderson, NV, this is a rare opportunity to be part of a site launch from the ground up. You’ll help establish world-class compliance and safety standards while shaping the future of advanced manufacturing.
The role will begin in Oxnard, CA, where you’ll play a hands-on role supporting operations immediately, and then transition to Henderson in 2026 as the new facility becomes operational. This move will open the door to career growth opportunities at one of the most advanced manufacturing sites in the world.
Salary Range:
$98,000 - $150,000 per year.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure site compliance with OSHA, EPA, local, state, and federal HSE regulations.
Maintain required permits, records, and documentation (e.g., air emissions, stormwater, hazardous waste, fire sprinkler/fire alarm systems).
Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.
Safety Program Management:
Develop and enforce health and safety programs, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, machine guarding, and hazard communication.
Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
Conduct risk assessments and job safety analyses (JSAs) for all processes and equipment.
Environmental Program Oversight:
Manage waste handling, recycling programs, spill prevention, and hazardous materials compliance.
Monitor and report environmental metrics (e.g., water, waste, emissions).
Coordinate sustainability initiatives as appropriate.
Training and Communication:
Develop, deliver and track participation in safety training programs, educating employees on safe working practices, emergency response, and environmental compliance.
Lead safety meetings and awareness campaigns.
Ensure all employees understand and are trained in safety expectations.
Auditing and Continuous Improvement:
Conduct routine safety inspections, behavior-based observations, and internal audits.
Track and analyze EHS performance indicators; implement proactive improvements.
Regularly review and report key department metrics to ensure targeted goals are met.
Provide technical guidance and support to management and employees on environmental, health and safety related items.
Emergency Preparedness:
Maintain and test emergency response plans and procedures.
Lead emergency drills and coordinate with external responders when needed.
Provide leadership and coaching to department personnel.
Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.
Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises employees. The managerial responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Typically 1 to 5 direct reports.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
6+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proven experience with OSHA and EPA regulations and reporting.
Experience leading audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
Education
Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Major
Minimum Years of Experience: 5-10 years
Language Skills
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations in English. Must be able to write analytical and/or technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and create instructional reference material. Able to speak effectively before groups, customers, employees of the organization and/or the general public.
