Alan B. Miller Medical Center . Position located in Palm Beach County as part of Universal Health Services (UHS). The Alan B. Miller Medical Center is a new, state-of-the-art hospital opening in Spring 2026, offering comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. The campus will include hospital and medical office space and a helistop. This opportunity is full-time at 40 hours per week, with full benefits and a convenient schedule.

Responsibilities

Serve as strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing clinical laboratory operations across multiple hospital sites, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant laboratory services that support patient care and organizational goals.

Lead a team of laboratory managers, supervisors, and technical staff; foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Oversee all testing and testing-related diagnostic laboratory services for the Palm Beach Market, including Wellington Regional Medical Center, Alan B. Miller Medical Center, FEDs, Urgent Care Centers, and other services.

Develop strategic direction for laboratory services; oversee quality, service levels, cost, and operational integrity of laboratory operations.

Hire and train departmental supervisors and managers; drive talent development and succession planning.

Coordinate with medical staff, administration, and nursing departments; manage care, utilization, and standing order activities when applicable.

Develop budgets and business plans for laboratory areas and contribute to the organization’s vision, mission, and strategic plan; ensure standards of care and practice in Laboratory areas.

Maintain knowledge of Joint Commission, AOA, Florida Department of Health guidelines, CAP, and related regulations relevant to WRMC and laboratory operations.

Qualifications

Education : Advanced degree in health care or business administration from an accredited institution (MHA, MBA, MD) required.

Experience : Minimum ten years of progressively responsible laboratory management experience; 10+ years of multi-facility laboratory management experience; experience working with medical staff, administration, and nursing departments; managed care, utilization, and standing order experience preferred.

Skills : Knowledge of information systems for laboratory management; broad understanding of Laboratory Management and hospital operations; strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to mentor and develop teams; strong interpersonal and written communication; proficiency with Microsoft Office and supply chain systems.

Certification/Licensure : Medical Technologist with ASCP or comparable certification required.

Travel : Travel within the Palm Beach Market.

Additional Information Accountable for coordinating activities and providing clinical and administrative leadership in the Laboratory Service departments. Responsible for fiscal, operational, and personnel management; develops budgets and business plans; contributes to the organization’s strategic plan; ensures compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations.
