Within assigned region, responsible for all distribution matters relating to: self-run distribution centers; third-party consolidation and storage facilities; orchestration of daily outbound transportation routing; cohesive customer service relations with selling clubs; resolution of supply chain management issues with vendors; and long-term strategic planning in support of corporate plans and objectives. Manage distribution workload region-wide; allocate resources to optimize distribution productivity; oversee distribution fundamentals to enhance asset integrity and adherence to corporate policies; communicate with selling club managers and vendors to ensure timely support; formulate and execute applicable budgets and expense controls. Oversee all regional self-run distribution operations: analyses and planning of workload, allocation of resources, integration of processes to support selling clubs, enforcement of safety standards, assessment of productivity against benchmarks, and reporting to Home Office superiors. Oversee performance of all regional third-party logistics providers, including soft-lines and reverse logistics, ensuring asset integrity and proper on-site receiving procedures where applicable. Support selling clubs through ongoing communication with zone, regional and selling club executives and managers; resolve issues related to packing, packaging, trailer loading, receiving, and delivery timing. Resolve supply chain management inefficiencies between key vendors and BJ’s as assigned; coordinate outbound transportation routing with Transportation to ensure timely delivery to selling clubs. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or equivalent Ten years in a combination of physical distribution, transportation, resources management and retailing Job Conditions & Compensation
