Position Purpose
The Product Management Manager is responsible for attracting, retaining and developing top talent focused on assessing market needs and inspiring cross-functional product teams to find the fastest way to achieve value around those needs. The Product Management Manager focuses on guiding and executing the delivery of business value to drive sales, improve efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction through the production of quality products. Within their designated enterprise product line, Managers work closely with teams of developers, designers and business partners. They support in-depth business reviews, communicate and present across all levels of the organization, and support cross-functional product teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning: Look across product teams and feature sets with a focus on alignment and dependencies; understand customer and associate needs to deliver enterprise products that enhance the Home Depot customer and associate experience; translate business goals into product strategy; communicate direction and priorities to the product team and partners.
Delivery & Execution: Ensure solutions align with priorities; document and ensure quality and change control standards are met; remove roadblocks to support on-time product delivery; prioritize requests from business partners with the product vision in mind; provide regular leadership updates on portfolio progress.
People: Lead, mentor and coach Product Managers; attract and develop top talent; conduct performance reviews; foster collaboration across Engineering, UX and other teams; promote modern software development practices; advocate for end users and stakeholders.
Cross-functional Leadership: Manage expectations of cross-functional teams and stakeholders; educate requestors on prioritization based on tangible benefits and user experience; guide junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis and execution; participate in learning activities around modern software design and development practices.
Direct Manager / Direct Reports
Typically reports to the Product Management Sr. Manager, Technology Director or Sr. Director.
Travel Requirements
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
Physical Requirements
Most of the time is spent sitting; occasional light lifting may be required.
Working Conditions
Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent, not objectionable conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
5-7 years of relevant work experience
Experience as a Product Manager in a modern software development enterprise environment overseeing multiple products
Experience with agile practices and modern software development, including XP principles (paired programming, TDD, continuous deployment)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Strong communication and influence across all levels of the organization
Experience creating and managing epics and user stories
Experience conducting user research and competitive analysis
Experience guiding and developing junior team members
Experience balancing workloads across teams and managing stakeholder expectations
Active listening and effective communication with executives and frontline teams
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
