Overview
General Merchandise Team Leader – Port Arthur, TX at Target. This role supports store operations and guest experience through leadership of General Merchandise areas, inbound/outbound, replenishment, pricing, and promotional activities. Responsibilities
Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising, pricing, setting and updating sales floor displays, sampling, promotions and price changes. Educate the team on operational procedures (setting up and organizing merchandise, stock management, maintaining sales floor areas) and how they impact inventory, store profitability, and product availability. Assess reports to identify gaps in GM processes and collaborate with the direct leader to resolve them. Be an expert in operations, accuracy, processes and efficiency. Assist with daily execution of tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise and posting promotional signs for GM areas, under leader guidance. Assist with inventory accuracy, merchandise setup and maintenance, and pricing for all store areas under leader guidance. Assign daily tasks to team members based on workload and guest traffic, aligned with business priorities. Help establish goals and hold team members accountable under leader guidance. Help with fulfillment processes (pick, pack and ship) where applicable and assess related reports to close gaps with leader direction. Collaborate with all teams and leaders to identify priorities and ensure the store is guest-ready in alignment with leader direction. Stay informed about trends and products and relay Target communications to the team during team connection moments. Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team, modeling onboarding and learning best practices and coaching for skill development. Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts and weekends. Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws where applicable. Demonstrate inclusivity, ethics, safety and compliance; lead the team to follow these standards. Model and lead a safety culture, identify hazards, and participate in incident response and timely reporting/investigation of injuries.
