Overview
The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is recruiting individuals to fill entry level Respiratory Care Practitioner positions assigned to the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center in Martinez. Respiratory Care Practitioner I is an entry level position which requires no experience. Employees in this class assist in the treatment of respiratory disorders of patients in the Health Services Department using a wide variety of techniques and equipment. They also clean, assemble, and transport respiratory therapy equipment as required and may operate an electrocardiograph machine on a relief basis. Minimum Qualifications
Certification Required:
Possession of a valid certificate as a Respiratory Care Practitioner issued by the Respiratory Care Examining Committee of the Board of Medical Quality Assurance for the State of California and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate by the American Heart Association. You must attach copies of your certificates as proof. Within three (3) months of employment, must possess and maintain an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ALCS) Certificate and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Certificate. Experience:

Prior to employment, a background investigation will be conducted. Fingerprints will be taken. Selection Process

The names of candidates will be placed on an employment list in rank order for a period of six (6) months. (Weighted 100%) The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.
