As a Lead Credit Officer - Vice President within the Specialty Finance Risk Team, you will manage the risk of a national portfolio of non-bank financial entities involved in residential mortgage origination, commercial/consumer finance, fintech, and other financial services. You will collaborate with Securitized Products, Corporate and Investment Bankers, Treasury Services, and Traders to analyze, structure, risk grade, and approve credit exposures. You will also lead deal documentation negotiations and oversee ongoing risk management. Responsibilities Manage the ongoing risk of your portfolio, maintaining a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and the portfolio’s current and future outlook. Develop expertise in residential mortgage finance and other specialty finance markets, working with junior staff and product bankers to develop client solutions. Lead due diligence meetings, either virtually or on-site. Conduct financial analysis to evaluate corporate strength and identify key risks. Monitor the portfolio to ensure accurate internal risk grading and take appropriate actions for deteriorating clients. Collaborate with coverage bankers and product partners to structure risk-appropriate financing solutions. Assess stress and downside scenarios, including cash flow modeling. Review and negotiate legal documentation for transactions and trading. Prepare written credit analyses and present recommendations for approval. Mentor junior team members, manage workloads, delegate tasks, meet deadlines, and escalate issues as needed. Lead special projects as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline. 5+ years of experience in commercial/corporate banking, asset-based lending, or structured finance, including credit, structuring, and marketing. Strong credit, documentation, and transaction experience. Completion of a major credit training program or equivalent experience. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teammates, clients, and senior management. Strong work ethic with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Preferred Skills Experience in residential mortgage, specialty finance, or securitization.
