Staff Accountant I

to support our expanding corporate accounting operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day accounting functions and high-impact special projects in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Position Summary The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial reporting. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Prior experience in the property management and corporate sectors is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Perform full-cycle accounting duties, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly, ensuring the timely resolution of discrepancies

Assist with monthly and quarterly financial closings, internal reporting, and audit preparation

Support the Controller and senior leadership with ad hoc financial analyses and project-based work

Maintain accurate and organized financial records in compliance with internal policies and external regulations

Collaborate with property management and operations teams to ensure alignment of accounting processes and reporting needs

Participate in the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures and internal controls

Assist in the onboarding and integration of new accounting tools and software as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or property management setting

Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is required

Familiarity with RealPage or Yardi is preferred

Microsoft Office proficiency is required

Solid understanding of financial reporting best practices

Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments

Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision

Team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow within the organization

Willingness to train others
