Position Summary: The Senior Mission Investment Officer is responsible for securing and growing financial support for YFC’s National Service Center by cultivating and managing a portfolio of major donors and prospects. This role also supports key funding initiatives identified in the national strategic plan. This role requires an experienced development professional with expertise in major gift fundraising, motivated by YFC’s mission to reach young people for Christ and advance the Church by engaging those who are far from it. Responsibilities
Works in partnership with the Office of the President Grows and sustains the NSC’s giving partner base/operating funds in alignment with YFC’s Development model Personally develops and maintains a portfolio of major giving partner relationships up to $500,000 Plans and participates in each stage of the fundraising cycle: initiate contact with potential donors, develop cultivation strategies, move prospects toward invitations, extend stewardship and appreciation Maintains all development activities defined by YFC USA’s Development model Meets or exceeds targets to acquire new partners and faithfully cultivate existing partners Facilitates activities in: President’s circle relationships, major giving partners, monthly partners, foundation/grants relationships, and occasional national development events Regularly assesses and reports progress toward goals and benchmarks Maintains records in Salesforce for all development activity Assists Gift Processing in clarifying giving partner intent/designation with Finance Works with NSC staff to implement capital campaigns and collaborates across departments to maximize donor relationships Completes prospect research and actively manages and grows donor portfolio Represents YFC professionally in the community and participates in projects as assigned Spiritual Responsibilities
As an associate minister of the Gospel, employees are expected to seek God’s guidance, participate in regular prayer and worship, teach and preach from the Bible at YFC events, and model empathy, humility, and inclusion. Fundraising Responsibilities: Directly responsible for growing and sustaining the NSC’s giving base to support over $5M annually; participate in faithful activities that advance stewardship (inviting donors, cultivating relationships, notes, calls, and ministry to donors). Position Requirements: Knowledge & Skills: Proven track record in fundraising with a $500K major gift portfolio, Kingdom fundraising principles, excellent communication, sound judgment, strong customer-service orientation, relational yet sales-oriented mindset, and ministerial capacity to support donors’ spiritual walks. Credentials & Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; Kingdom-oriented fund development certifications a plus; 5–7 years in fund development, sales management, or donor relations; experience in a leadership role within a complex nonprofit. Budget Responsibilities and Travel: Budget alignment with YFC/USA strategic plan; 60–80 travel days per year to meet with major donors and attend events.
