Youth For Christ USA Inc. Position Summary: The Mission Investment Officer is a relationship cultivator extraordinaire. S/he is a champion for the mission of South Texas Youth for Christ (STYFC) to acquire new giving partners while building awareness of STYFC’s work through effectively using the processes and practices provided through YFC’s national development model. S/he helps our giving partners accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with our organization. Both relationally gifted and motivated by metrics, the Missions Investment Officer is energized by proactive conversations that culminate in seeing a potential giving partner introduced to STYFC’s work, invited to give, and by seeing enhanced missional commitment towards stated benchmarks and goals. Additionally, s/he is motivated by seeing partners become more generous in their ongoing giving, and by seeing lapsed partners re-engage with our mission. S/he is involved in the entire process of bringing in new prospects and cultivating relationships that connect them to opportunities for involvement and financial giving and ultimately life-long partners of South Texas Youth For Christ. Responsibilities
Relationship Development (Find > Win > Keep > Lift): Build relationships through faithful, personalized touchpoints with current and potential giving partners interested in funding STYFC’s local operations, going beyond mass communications. Graciously and respectfully invite prospects toward financial partnership, and encourage STYFC staff to do the same. Follow up with attendees of events and communications, enter information into the database, cultivate relationships with new partners, guiding them to involvement with STYFC operating funding and Launch Chapter funding. Proactively reach out to potential giving partners to inspire participation with YFC’s mission. Promote relational care of all partners to STYFC by reporting missional progress and expressing gratitude through notes, calls, and appropriate gifts. Secure major gifts at the $2,000+ level with the goal of raising $200,000+ annually. Manage existing portfolio of 60 giving partners and 40 prospects. Work with the Mission Investment department to align efforts and set goals. Event Support: Organizes, supports and/or executes non-ask donor acquisition tours, financial-ask events and strategies, and appreciation events according to targeted goals; adhere to STS/BTS Playbook; collaborate with Advancement Marketing Team to execute acquisition-oriented events on social media; manage invites and RSVP’s; follow up with attendees and enter information into Salesforce; track and report event data; assemble and empower volunteers to execute events. Donor Communication: Prepare and send ministry updates to giving partners; collect content for communications; post on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) weekly; implement lapsed donor communication strategies; execute special communication projects as assigned. Spiritual Responsibilities: Seek God’s guidance through prayer and worship; participate in regular prayer, devotion, and worship; teach and preach from the Holy Bible at STYFC meetings and events; model empathy, humility, and care, promoting equity and inclusion. Note: STYFC employees may have an opportunity to be commissioned or licensed as a minister of the Gospel through Youth for Christ processes. Fundraising Responsibilities
All STYFC employees are expected to actively participate in activities that advance STYFC’s stewardship functions. STYFC may attach minimum fundraising goals to projects, activities, departments, or individuals. As a Chapter employee, you may engage people in giving to the Ministry to support your budget; follow YFC/USA policies and procedures for donor development and fundraising. Position Requirements
Knowledge & Skills
MUST enjoy building relationships—and talking on the telephone. Be comfortable in a public-facing role. Skilled in giving partner recruitment and relationship cultivation. Able to inspire, assemble, and mobilize staff to meet fundraising goals. Mature and able to interact with diverse people. Enjoy developing relationships over time. Detail-oriented with ability to track every conversation in the database. Value the power of stories; strong verbal and written communication skills. Follow a prescribed model while working creatively within its parameters. Willingness to learn new things; capable of organizing and planning events; able to assemble and empower teams; enjoy networking locally. Work independently and meet required tasks; spiritual maturity to help potential partners discern next steps. Willingness to travel within the ministry area. Ability to connect donors with appropriate colleagues for successful results. Preferred experience with Salesforce, Monday.com and Microsoft Office 365. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree preferred. Passion for fundraising, sales, customer service, or related experience is essential. TRAINING PROVIDED: This role requires training in the See The Story/Be The Story /YFC Champions Playbook; pending Best Practice.
