Overview
Senior Financial Analyst, under general direction, is responsible for supporting the annual plant operations budget process, the weekly plant P&L forecasts and the month-end plant P&L, vendor rebates accounting and analysis; including partnering with the procurement team to develop the raw materials Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) and the annual vendor rebates budget, as well as assist in ingredients, packaging, finished products and inventory costing and analysis. This individual ensures that appropriate controls and compliance processes are followed. Additionally, this individual will be a key project member to identify and implement process improvements. Prepare weekly and monthly Plant P&L forecasts and deliver insightful analysis to support strategic business decisions Design and maintain financial templates, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts Manage and review financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards Collaborate with management to develop financial strategies and plans Lead efforts to improve centralized costing processes and maintain precise plant cost reporting Mentor junior financial analysts Lead projects and coordinate ad hoc projects as needed Support the annual mid-year forecast, COLA, and the plant operations budget processes, including budget modeling Prepare the weekly vendor rebates forecasts and the monthly vendor rebates accounting and analysis Dairy Management System (DMS) product costing and analysis, including developing transfer prices Plant P&L validation and reconciliation of DMS costs to SAP Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new products and ensure they are accurately costed Review and ensure proper and accurate costing for materials, ingredients, packaging, semi-finished and finished goods Perform month-end closing including preparing journal entries and creating financial reports Interact with cross-functional teams, external and internal auditors, and respond to inquiries Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or economics Experience: 5+ years of financial analysis or accounting experience (Public accounting experience a plus) Strong background or interest in cost accounting Proven ability to consolidate financial reports for multiple plants/departments/divisions Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Access/SQL is a plus Dairy/plant costing or accounting experience a plus Access Database/SQL experience a plus; ability to manipulate, run or modify objects in databases In-depth knowledge of GAAP, balance sheet and income statement methods, internal controls, and other areas related to financial reporting We offer / Benefits
